Exceptionally good wood fire grilled steaks. Drinks were large and strong. Loana provided excellent recommendations and service.
La Boca in Tamarindo made me feel like I was back in Argentina! Pablo, the concierge, gave us such a warm welcome and made us feel right at home. The prices are very fair, and Luis, the manager, is such a kind and approachable person. The highlight? The pizza cooked on the barbecue—it’s absolutely amazing and will keep me coming back for more. If you’re in Tamarindo, La Boca is a must-visit!
Came here for dinner for two during the week and was more than just pleasantly surprised. Plenty of seating to be had and has a cool coastal outdoor feeling with plenty of Argentinian flair. We started with the Choripan as an appetizer, which honestly could have even been enough for a whole meal had we not split it. I ordered the rose pork with fries and side salad, and my date got the malbec tenderloin. While both were delicious, I think the steak really took the take on this one, amazing flavor and perfectly cooked. The biggest thing though, don't skip on their chimmichurri, I could almost literally put that on everything. On top of the great food though, the service was some of the best we received while in Tamarindo, it might have been slow but we both felt like we were really catered to. We enjoyed it so much we even recommended it to some other hungry tourists on our way out!
We went to dinner here on our first night in Costa Rica. We were exhausted from the long travel day, but having such a wonderful dinner was well worth staying out later. Our waiter was Louis and he was fantastic. He had the best energy, was attentive, he even fixed the wobbly table leg without us asking. The food was phenomenal and the drinks were cold and refreshing. Highly recommend.
A Must-Visit in Tamarindo – Unforgettable Experience at La Boca! While strolling through Tamarindo, we were instantly drawn to the sight of ribs slowly turning over a wood fire outside La Boca. Our curiosity led us inside, and we’re so glad it did! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with friendly bartenders and the incredible April making us feel right at home. The drinks were expertly crafted, and after chatting with April—who generously shared recommendations for our trip—we knew we had to return for dinner. We saved La Boca for our final night, and it turned out to be one of the best meals we’ve ever had on vacation.Every detail of our dining experience was perfect, from the soft, warm rolls to the mouthwatering ribs and fresh-grilled veggies. We had read rave reviews about the mashed potatoes, so of course, we ordered them—and they did not disappoint! The entire staff exuded positivity, making us feel both welcomed and valued. They checked in just the right amount, ensuring we had everything we needed while giving us space to savor our meal.Beyond the incredible food, what made this experience truly special was the hospitality. The team at La Boca goes above and beyond to create not just a meal but a beautiful cultural experience filled with laughter, kindness, and a deep appreciation for Argentinian cuisine. If you're in Tamarindo, La Boca is an absolute MUST—especially on Saturdays for their chef’s special rib dinner! We’re already looking forward to visiting our new friends again.Thank you, La Boca family! We love you!
Time for Italian!! Lots of five star ratings by previous reviewers. My review is slightly less as our server seemed somewhat distracted. It took a couple of tries before my second glass of wine arrived and none too soon as I was halfway through my dinner. It wasn't too busy so I'm not sure why the delay. The food was excellent. I had the Angus Lasagna and my wife had the Pear and Brie salad. I had a glass of the house Cabernet. It was OK for a house wine. I did not see an owner's response to any review, which is a red flag for me but in this it all worked out.
Come with empty bellies, you will fill them up. We ordered the combo for two and as you can see from the picture it can feed four, we shared some with starving British students that were seated near by. All was good, great service
Argentinian fare.., Excellent service, nice atmosphere and the food was great. We were not familiar with the restaurant but went with friends who have been there before and we were not disappointed. I had osobuco which I had never had before. Friends ordered steaks and said that they were delicious. My wife is gluten free and they had a pizza for her that looked good too. Recommended.
